Blocked Toilets
A blocked toilet needs the bowl cleared and the cause found, whether that's paper, wipes or a root in the branch drain. Once it's flowing we explain how to keep it that way.
Flat blocks beside the Deagon Wetlands leave stormwater standing once inlets clog, which is why Deagon blocked drain crews handle toilets, sewers, stormwater and sinks; phone (07) 3067 4271.
If we're late, $100 comes off your bill
Everything below sits under our drain services page, which walks through each job type in full.

A blocked toilet needs the bowl cleared and the cause found, whether that's paper, wipes or a root in the branch drain. Once it's flowing we explain how to keep it that way.

When the sewer line blocks, every fixture in the house feels it at once. We clear the main sewer line and show you exactly where the problem sat, from your fixtures to the authority's main.

Flat ground and creek flood zones make stormwater its own job here. We clear stormwater drains and pits so rain has somewhere to go besides your yard and the footpath.

Kitchen, bathroom and laundry drains cleaned with an electric eel or jet blasting. We clear sink and shower drains and flush the line so the slow drain stays clear longer.

A camera down the pipe shows the exact cause and spot of the trouble. CCTV drain inspection takes the guesswork out before anyone starts digging up the yard.

Cracked, root-damaged or collapsed pipes get repaired or relined. We size up drain repairs honestly and tell you when a clean alone will hold the line.

Deagon Same Day Blocked Drains is the blocked drain service for Deagon, Sandgate and Boondall. We take on blocked toilets, slow sewers, stormwater pits that won't take rain, and sinks that gurgle.
Most of our work is in detached houses, most of Deagon at the last census. A lot of it is in the older station-side streets laid before PVC existed. That's why we're locally owned and operated, not a franchise.

The streets around the station filled after the First World War, and many still run earthenware branch drains with offset joints. Wipes and fine roots snag on those joints, and the same house blocks up again and again.
The soils beside Cabbage Tree Creek are humic and peaty gley with salt in them. Water seeps into low drain joints and drops silt in the pipe, so a blockage you cleared last year can come straight back after the wet season.
Deagon sits low on creek flats, so stormwater has very little fall to work with. Once the creek is up, a choked pit leaves rain standing in the yard with nowhere to drain.
Tea-tree woodland near the wetlands and mature street trees around the racecourse put roots right beside drains that are decades old. Fine roots get in through the joints first, then thicken until the pipe chokes.
Drain backing up right now? Three quick checks:

Drains rarely die without warning. These four signs show up first:
usually means air is stuck behind a partly blocked line.
points to a blockage downstream of both fixtures.
can mean a cracked pipe leaking into the ground.
often means the trap has run dry or sewage is sitting in the line.

Every drain job prices differently, and we agree yours before work begins. The usual factors:
An outside gully is the quick job; a line under the driveway or deep down the back yard costs more.
Old earthenware with offset joints takes longer to clear and is more likely to need a camera afterwards.
Grease and paper shift quickly; a root ball or a collapsed section is a bigger job.
If the blockage returns, the camera is the next step, priced on its own.
When we're not the right call: if the blockage is in the sewer main out in the street, that pipe belongs to Urban Utilities, and the authority's own crews need to clear it.

Deagon's flat creek-side ground makes stormwater the second drain problem many households meet. Council mapping shows the February 2022 flood covered a large share of the suburb's residential land.
Creek flood planning and storm-tide mapping run over Norman Street, Finnie Road, Station Road, Central Avenue and Henderson Road, and only a handful of streets sit entirely clear.
A pit that drains happily in a dry July can sit under creek water in a February storm, and anything washed toward the inlet, leaves, mulch, litter, ends up in the pipe.
Clearing yard drains and pits while the ground is still dry is easy protection on these flat streets. We do that work across the suburb, from the station-side streets to the houses near the sportsground.
Our regular run covers Deagon itself plus the neighbouring suburbs, each with its own page of local drain detail:
The about page tells you who does the work, and the FAQ answers everything else. Details for a visit are on the contact page.

We shift the blockage with an electric eel or jet blasting, starting from the closest access point so the yard and bathroom stay as we found them.
We run water through the line until it drains freely and show you the result before we pack up.

Access to the pipe, how deep it sits, what it's made from and what went down it. A camera inspection adds to the job, and the price is settled before anyone starts.
Usually, yes. A morning call generally gets a plumber to your drain before the day is out, but we never guarantee the timing outright.
You look after everything inside your property boundary. The sewer main under the street is Urban Utilities' responsibility, and their crews clear it.
Wipes, paper towels, cotton buds, hair, grease and food scraps. On the old earthenware joints around this suburb, wipes snag and the blockages keep coming back.
Once the line is flowing again, a CCTV camera goes down the pipe when the cause isn't obvious, so you can see the broken joint or the roots yourself.
